Quotable Quotes!

Sometimes a good quotation can really make your day or inspire you to move ahead after facing an obstacle. For instance, one of my favorite quotes is:

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

William Shakespeare

What are some quotations that you find inspiring, humorous, or otherwise worthy of sharing?

Just say what you mean and mean what you say. Dont expect someone to read your mind and don't play games with heads or hearts. Dont tell half truths and expect trust when the full truth comes out. A half truth is no better then a lie. Don't be cold someone you care about. Indifference hurts more then angry words. ( A nice little quote to guide us through our hard 8th grade lives.) <3 (that is a heart)

I think that this quote is really powerful and meaningful at the same time...
Friendship is not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.

Muhammad Ali

I found this quote in the book "The sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" on life:

Sometimes you're the windshield, and sometimes you're the bug.
Mark Knopfler

I think it's funny and meaningful at the same time.

"You haven't learned anything till you demonstrate it".
I think its really true, because to show you have learned something you need to show your understanding in some way.
By the way, I don't know if I learned to to write the comments right because I haven't seen any result.

I found this quote in the magazine called Reader's Digest:

"Be thankful for what you have-you'll end up having more.
By: Oprah Winfrey
This quote really says that you should not complain and be jealous of what other people or friends might have.

'I felt as if I were in a glass box. I could see people moving around on the other side of it. They were moving in double time. I watched them from inside my glass box.'
-Walking Naked,Alyssa Brugman

People think that they really know someone, but they only saw it from outside. They couldn't even touch the person. If the glass box crashes into each other, both will get hurt.. so they just keep away from each other.

heres some funny quotes from The Yogi Book. Its a book filled with quotes from a baseball player named "Yogi" Berra.

One time, Yogi was playing twenty questions, a game where someone thinks of something, and you have twenty questions you can ask to guess the thing. Yogi asked,

(Question 1) "Is he living?"
(Question 2) "Is he living now?"

Another quote, from when Yogi was watching a Steve McQueen movie called Papillon. He observed that,

" Steve McQueen looks good in this movie. he must have made it before he died."

One last quote. Yogi was at a pizzeria and the pizza people asked him whether he wanted his pizza cut into four or eight slices. He responded,

"Four. I don't think i can eat eight."

Yogi Berra. What a guy!

I saw this quote in Mr. Huxtable's drama room. It said that, " We have two ears and one mouth, so that we can listen twice as much as we speak." I think this is a good quote because not many people truly listen to one another when they talk. I think people should remember this quote whenever they're speaking with someone else.
