Do you like middle school?
Are you tired of not having a permanent teacher?
When you first went to middle school did you have any trouble opening your locker or getting to any of your classes ?

What is the biggest challenge in managing Middle School? What is it like in each class? How is it different from our class right now? What do you do in P.E.? How do you use lockers?
How often do people find out your combination?
How big are lockers?
Well the biggest challenge in middle school for me, was change in general. change of just a few classes to 8! the use of not one but two lockers! navigating the trecherous halls of middle school, and just finding my place in the middle shcool circle of life. change is both a blessing and a curse. the best advice i can give to yall is that you should know your friends. dont gossip it will make your middle school years hard and try to be nice to everyone. i know that most of us dont do this, but try. it took me two years to learn that!
good luck next year guys!
love!
ps : HI CODY!!!
oh ok now i see yall's questions too. so this i will add to my last comment hehe. to use lockers remember Right LEFt RIGht!! it will help you!!! bobby;s food is ok, just get use to spending a lot of money. over the summer run alot. the cross country runs are a pain especially if your not use to it!!!
wow.. you guys ask alot of questions...

1. in 6th grade, you cant choose woodworking as far as i know. (only class you cant choose)
2. i cant suggest anything since everybody is different. if you want easy classes pick easy named ones. if you want hard classes, pick the classes which seem hard.
3. hehe, i can't say
4. the classes are actually very near each other. there are three quads on three floors. Four minutes is enough time to get to class to class.

1. It feels great! you have much more freedom and you can buy whatever you want from cafeterias and you have lockers and you can walk around MS without being supervised most of the time.
2. Easy ones. There are way too many to choose from for me to remember what i chose in 6th grade...
3. Not really. You get used to moving alone from class to class.

1. 4-5 minutes is more than enough time to walk to classes.

1. Four electives, one humanities teacher for social studies and language arts, and one teacher for math and science. So in total, 8 classes with 6 different teachers.
2. You learn humanities, math, sci P.E and four other things that youg et to choose from.
3. Be responsible and your fine.
4. no. Study hard and do your HOMEWORK!, and your fine.
5. Very much so
6. of NOT having a permenant teacher? of course not. having a variety of teachers is greeeaaaat!

1. EVERYTHING you will ever need in 6th grade is at the bookstore. at the beginning of the year, you go to the bookstore and ask them for a 6th grade materials packet and they give you a big blue bag full of everything.
alright then. thats all i have time for today.
casey and leo-
When i was coming into sixth grade, i was wondering the same thing. How much homework will there be, will i have enough time to do all my homework, etc. All I can really say to you is: Brace yourself for the homework, try your best, and remember that you'll have some tough times ahead of you. I don't think that anyone hasn't had their share of obstacles and problems through middle school, but with good friends you'll have a good time and you'll do just fine.

For classes you should take, definitively try to go into video journalism, or visual production. but if you don't get into either of those classes, try to go to movie makers after school on Wednesdays. also, it sometimes gets annoying because if you have p.e., then a language class,, or drama, and then have health, it gets annoying because you have to walk from one end of the school to the other again and again.
i think that main difference between elementary school and middle school is diffrent classes. in middle school, you have about 6 teachers you have classes with. you have your math and science, your humanities teachers, your language teachers, your p.e. teachers, your health/global communication's/ inter cultural commutations/, your elective, band, etc.
Hey, Jayna & Malika. Okay, so this is what you guys asked:

Some electives that I really enjoy are: PUBLICATIONS b/c it gives you the liberty of writing about topics that you're interested in and share it w/ our school.CHROUS as it's fun and Mrs.Thompson really pushes you to give 110% every single class - when your entire singing group is in harmony I think it's really amazing. I think this class also doubles as philsophy, because Mrs.Thompson has a lot of pep talks and she teaches you about life, and she's very funny. FRENCH, i've had three teachers for french so far, Ms.Bookhammer, Mme.Renee and Mlle.Henriot. They're all fun, amazing teachers and I think french is a really fun and interesting language - it's one of my favorite classes and has always been. If you're starting SPANISH you should take Spanish Intro, because i took Spanish w/ Senora Rasmussen and she is - wow. She's incredibly effective at teaching languages and you really learn a lot from her. For later if you're here in older grades, I'd reccomend you switch into Mr.Le's math/science class for 7th grade b/c he's about the funniest guy ever and makes math/science fun and Mr.Nuckol's math/science class for 8th grade. I think she teaches really well, I like her teaching methods a lot because all her classes are very productive and you feel that you really get a lot from her. And don't be scared to come into 6th grade, it took me about two weeks to adjust but everyone is very patient.
What kind of homework do you have?
Does most of your unfinished work go as homework too?
what kind of field trips do you get to go on besides the kanchanaburi one?
What are the consequences for doing something wrong or not doing something that's suppose to be done? Are all the consequences bad?
If you are in the ESL program, is it hard to pick subject which you want?
Did you ever get lost on your first day of middleschool ?

In your opinion do you study most of the time? Is it good to study all day all night?

Are there any after school activities that you reccomend?
What do you do during your lunch?

what do you do if you forget your locker combination over the winter break or something?
what do you do when someone takes something in you locker?
do you switch lockers everyyear or keep the same one the whole time like your library card?
what's the hardest step in middle school?
do you have the same people in your class everytime you switch classes?
How do we use the lockers and do we have a number or password to open the locker. What will we have to learn in middle school. Do we have to learn another language in middle school. In P.E what do we do. And what do we do in music and art. Is it different from 5th grade. Is it harder or is it easier.
1-Do we get to choose the period of Drama and Choir which is the best period to choose like 3, 4, 2, so which one shall I choose?

What special projects are there? Are they hard?
What do you learn in science?
ok, i'll answer some of the main questions i've read.
first, you will get a lock for your lockers and ur PE locker which you will get to choose. if you forget your combos you can just ask your teachers because they write the combinations down, in case you forget.
second, ya there is a lot of homework, but not that much, and if you organize your time properly you will be fine.
third, you shouldnt forget your homework because you should already have an agenda where you can write all your assignments.
fourth, yes, you od have recess, one is a 15 minute break, and the otehr one is during lunch which is about 40 minutes long.
fifth, to buy your lunch you just need to take some money and the boring part is doing line, which is very long.
i think this is it.
i wish you all good luck in middle school next year
haha. malika, when you come into middle school be prepared to lose recess. the recess we have are during pe. recess in elementary is really like lunch for middle school. its your free time to hang with your friends right? same thing with us, minus the monkey bars.
to nicko:
considering you only have 15 minutes during break the best thing to do is grab a snack from bobbies, and chill at the tables with your friends. um for after school activities that are sports related we have the bisac teams. you know the usual basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc. those are a great after schoo,l atletic activity. you should really consider trying out. um after school you can always hang in thegym but the best thing to do for me is hang with your friends. when you get into middle school you might think different. it really depends on you. the best over night trip in middle school is defiantly chiang mai! you have loads of fun and you definatly make new friendships. its a really great time! hopefully you get to expirience that. pe in middle school might be a little different the pe in es. we probally have a lot more sport activites to choose from such as lacross or ropes course. its defiantly a wake up call if you are doing the runs for a first time. be prepared. since i have never taken wood working i really dont know what it is but i do belive its like woodshop in america which is working with wood creating different objects such as a birdhouse. um, the btl in bobbies are really delicioso!. i think in your humanities classes you take probally 20 min out of class time to read, at least thats what we do in 8th grade. as for books im a girl so my reading taste are probally a lot different than yours, so explore the library and find some good books is my best advice to you. um i have been taking thai my whole middle school carrer so for me thai is the easiest( and no im not native thai), but if thai doesnt interest you, than maybe spanish?. your last two questions i cant really answer cause i cant really remember but i hope i have answered you other questions!
good luck to all of you! : ]

hey yasuaki! okay, so for languages its one of your electives so you can pick b/w French, Mandarin, Thai, Japanese and Spanish. I think what you learn in humanities varies but mainly in 6th grade you learn about archealogy. Your recess is at 9:16 and you've got 15 minutes. You can pick whatever instrument you want to play, and if you don't want to you don't even have to play one! You can also join Kids in Motion and sing if you want!
