Before I finished the book, I had a feeling that the little prince was going to die. I mean, he can't really stay with the pilot forever. Plus, he's got his flower to take care of. After i read the ending of the book, I think that it is very thought-provoking. When a person dies, how do we know that they really cease to exist? Maybe they're really just leaving the shell of their body behind, like the little prince said. The ending was pretty sad, but I think it was a good way to end the book. I think that the symbol here is actually death itself. Death is not just when you cease to exist, but rather, i think that is just the soul moving on to another place while leaving the human body behind. The ending of the book really made me think a lot, but i still liked it.
I think that the prince dies because the snake bites him. The prince commited suicide because he purposly wanted the snake to bite him. I am not sure that this so-called 'children's book' should have the Little Prince commiting suicide in the end, because it might influence young readers badly.
I think the ending of teh book was a bit confusing and a bit off topic. I didn't really understand it. THat is probably why i didn't like it much. The image I made of teh ending of the book is teh little prince dying because his body was too heavy to allow him to go back to his planet. I dont know if this is what the author meant, but this is what I think.
I think that TLP literally died. He was bitten by the poisonous snake and died. But I also believe that he went to a higher plane of existence. As I said in my essay, I beleived that the word world used in it's certain context changed the meaning of the small planets on which the characters live on. These planets represented these peoples minds and their lives. When he is bitten by the snake he is transported back to his planet. This would also imply that when he lived on his planet he must have been a spirit. The Characters on the planets could have been different tests made by his mind to prepare him for Earth. So now that he has learned the lesson intended by his flower he was now ready to return to his planet and deal with it.
I think that the little prince was killed by a snake. But, if so, I can't understand why he should be died. He said that he's gonna go back to his star, but he could use the birds to return. However, the little price was wrapped in mystery from the beginning to the end.
When I read the ending of the Little Prince I instantly became really sad, because in the book, it made it seem like the little prince died to get back to his star because of the phrase " You understand...It is too far. I cannot take this body along wiht me. It is too heavy. Left behind, it will only be an old cast-off shell. There is nothing sad about an old shell". I can defiantly say, that reading these words, made me come close to tears. I think that the Little Prince, had the snake poison him, so that his spirit may return to his star and care for his flower. The ending to this book, was really unexpected and right now I feel as if the Little Prince has taken a piece of me and taken it back with him to his planet.
I believe that the Little Prince was suffering without his rose ,and felt as if he couldn't go on without his rose. Therefore he had to return to the exact location he arrived at so that his planet would be directly above him. I could imagine several different reasons for why the Little Prince returned, but I felt that the fact that he ran out of love explained his situation best. The aviator and the Little Prince cared for each other, but I belive there was an unknown relationship. It felt like the aviatr and the Little Prince both cared for each other very much, but didn't dare to express it. Perhaps they were afraid to get too attached and lose another loved one. The ending is indeed a "head scratcher" and left me to imagine what would come next. Had the Little Prince's rose died, had the sheep eaten it, or was he living happily with his sheep and his rose? I enjoy using my imagination to create an ending, but at times I prefer and ending where it is obvious what has happened so the ending doesn't throw you off or leave you hanging. I think that the ending suits they stroy, because throughtout he story it is about grown-ups being too grown-up and not being capable of using their imagination. Or perhaps there are symbols reprenting a different ending...I am not sure. Now is the time for grown-ups to imagine how the Little Prince continueshis life in a positive or negative way. The ending really made me think deeply and I would like to discuss it in class so that I can understand more of the symbolism.
I think this entire book is a flashback but the little prince is the only one from the future. I think the sheep ate his flower and that is why the little prince is always so unhappy.
The first time that I read The Little Prince was when I was 8 years old. That time I thought that the little prince really died, so I guessed that the reason why the narrator could still laugh was because he had those beautiful memories of the little prince. But now, since i'm older, the true meaning is a little bit different. I think the little prince didn't die, but he just went back to his planet.. where everything that he needs is the truth that cannot be seen. He doesn't need his body. Only his soul.. that's all he needed.
I found the ending very confusing and I don't really understand what happened to the Little Prince. Although if I were to take a guess I think the Little Prince died. The death of the Little Prince didn't seem like a painful death because he was gone with no sound at all. I'm not exactly sure what happened, I still want to find out!
When I started reading this book, it was quite fun. I liked the part Saint-Exupery talked about his drawing in his childhood. As the story gets to the middle part when the little prince told the author about what he’s been doing before meeting the author on the Earth. I liked reading Saint-Exupery’s opinion, but there was not even conversation between him and the little prince. So I was bored during those chapters. At the first few chapters when the little prince appeared in the story, I didn’t like listening to the little prince’s opinion. Maybe that was because I didn’t really understand what the little prince was saying. At the last part of the story, the little prince dies. When he dies, there is kind of metaphor it is not really explaining how he died, but we can imagine how. Also at the beginning of the story, the author drew a box which has sheep in it, and i thought it was no clear also, but i thought he wants us to imiagine the sheep in the box. So the Saint-Exupery uses this skill to make people imagine the idea. I guess it will be fun if you put this in your mind and read it again! Hiroki 5/6
What really happens at the end of the story
I think that
I found the ending of The Little Prince confusing and I didn't really understand what happened to the pilot. Taking I guess I assume The Little Prince died. It seems as if his death wasn't painful since he was gone with no sound. I found the ending of the book pretty shocking because I didn't expect anything like this to happen. Before the death of The Little Prince it seemed as if he had all this planned out and he was ready to die. I was pretty shocked that The Little Prince didn't want the pilot there with him. I am still not sure of what happened in the end but I am eager to find out about what other people thought!
At the end of the story, in the narrator's point of view, the little prince seemed to die and he couldn't find the corpse of the little prince on the next day. I believe that the little prince never existed. The environments in the desert were so harsh and mesmerizing that anything seemed to be possible. The narrator believes that the little prince died when he didn't, and on the next day, the little prince wasn't there because he was never there. He probably stopped imagining the next morning because his plane was fixed, so it gave him something like a moral boost which put him back into reality. Another possibility is that the little prince actually exists and maybe over the night a miracle occured and he floated back to his planet. A more sensible version of the second possibilty (for grown-ups) is that the little prince actually existed and his corpse was blown away by the wind or covered by the sand, thus, the narratoe couldn't find him.
I think that this is basically the only way The Little Prince would end. If it doesn't end this way, the book wouldn't have a strong ending. I believe that this is the best ending eventhough it's one of the most sorrowful one.
I found that chapter 26 was my favorite part of all the book. It threw me into a small melancholy and I felt empathy for the narrator. I think that the Little Prince wanted to die. He wanted to leave the world with the knowledge that he had learned from his travels and with peace. I think that the Little Prince tried to kill himself by falling off the wall but the narrator caught him in time.
After, the Prince was talking about going to Heaven considering that he just wanted to leave the world peacefully. Where he was going, his body was to heavy to carry with him. Therefore, he just took his soul. So when the narrator watched the Little Prince's body fall limp, he saw the Prince's soul leave his body for Heaven. I thought this was a heartfelt ending.
The adult can always learn from the child. When you see many things, they will remind you of one object/thing that makes you happy. Then you feel happy when you look at these many things and you will be the only one who thinks of these things this way.
These things would be special to you and only you. That is what the Little Prince is trying to connect with the stars.

What I think happens at the end of the story
I think at the end of the story, the yellow snake tells the Little Prince that he has the power to return him to his home planet. This means that the snake represents death, since death is the only way the Little Prince can return. When the Prince dies, he leaves nothing and we are left to wonder if he is back on his planet or not.
My Reaction
I think this part was very different from the rest of the book. It shows how relationships always come to the end, but how it is still worth it to have one. I think the ending represents that everything has an end. There are countless possibilities of how the book could have ended, but the author chose this sad way.
Personally, I did not like this Humanities book very much. I thought that it was rather confusing and I think the ending of this book was very hard to understand. However, from what I gathered, I think that the Little Prince was bitten by the snake and knew he was going to die. He then told the narrator to leave so the narrator did not have to witness his death. I think that this ending is very sad but it should have been more clear.
Ignoring the fact that i have read the Little Prince already, I personally predicted that the Little Prince would just go back to his own planet the same way he landed on Earth. Also, learning that his tamed rose was not ephemeral, i thought he would have brought a rose seed to tame another one.
I was a little disappointed when Antoine deSt. Exuperey only wrote few sentences about the Little Prince's death.

because the little prince loved and valued the rose
so I think that the little prince never let anyone to touch her even an insect.
What I thought about this conclusion was
I don't feel really good about this conclusion because
I want to know the real ending. I don't like endings which are not clear,
but actually I think this is a great book.
It tells us how important to see people by heart and relationship.
When I was reading this book it reminded me a person who I really value.
I agree with the little prince.
When you love someone you want to protect him/her and think he/she is special then others.
The rose represents love and love teaches people so many things what you need to know.

My thoughts to the conclusion are that the little prince eventually dies. But I cannot assure this because there is a little bit of cofusedness in the end. I think that, while the little prince was having a conversation with the snake; he had been bitten by the snake and thats why his face was very white as snow, and he said 'I suppose its true that they have no poison left for a second bite.' The confusing part of this is that, the little prince says 'You were wrong to come. It will upset you. I shall seem to be dead and it will not be true...' So, how can the little prince die by the poison of the snake and say that he will just look dead, but will not be dead? At the ending, it is very confusing to predict whether the little prince had gone back to his planet such as by his soul leaving his body (thats why he said he will look dead, but will not be) or whatever he said does not matter and, he actually did die because from the poison of the snake. I think that the author left us to all make up our own endings and to keep asking ourselves questions such as 'Has the sheep eaten the flower or not?'
What I actually think happens at the end of the book is that the little prince's spiritually mind and body actually leave the realm of earth, and travel back to asteroid B612.
I think that the author should have ended the book differently, because with the ending it has now, people who read this book may have different ideas on what actually happens at the end.
Antoine de Saint-Exupery uses a lot of symbolism in his writing, and also uses a lot of figurative language and it take a lot of time to figure out what he actually might mean to say, and i think thats why a lot of people have read it over and over again.
i think that at the end of the story, the little prince does indeed travel back to his planet as a 'spirit' and then lovingly embrace his rose with the knowledge hes gathered over the course of his journey.
Focusing on how the story ended, i was shocked as to how the author made the little prince die by the snake. i thought that the prince was ultimately jusst going to fly off back to his planet with his birds. I personally didn't see a reason for the prince to perish but, to my limited knowledge, the author might have intended to put yet another symbol into the death of the little prince.

I found the end of this book very strange but sad at the same time. personally, i think that the little prince was just the narrator's imagination. Before the little prince dies he tells the narrator to remember him every time he looks at the stars. I see this as the narrator telling himself that everytime he starts to stop thinking as a child and think as an adult, he should look a the stars and it will remind him of the little prince and to think like a child.
The end of the story, the little prince fell and dissapeared at the desert. I think he was bitten by the snake and changed to the littl star and then went back to his planet. I haven't expected that the little prince dies. I thought this story has a happy ending. So I was suprised when I read through this book.
My hypothesis for the ending:
The Little Prince had bitten by snake on purpose because he wanted to go back home, and to go home his body was too heavy. Thus, he killed by the poison of the snake and separated his spirit and went back to home with only spirit.
My reaction for the ending:
When I first read this book in 6th grade, I did not understand this book, but I understood it now. I thought ending was kind of sad, but I am feeling happy, too. Because I am glad to think that little prince went back to home and loving his precious rose everyday, and watching his sunset once again.
I think that the end to the TLP was kind of too abrupt, and couldn't really been recognized as an "Ending", but the author did a very fine job on slipping in some very melancholic dialogs which made the ending a bit more interesting.
The Little Prince was actually bit by the snake in order to go back to his planet where his flower is. The Little Prince thought that he couldn't take his body to his planet, so he would die to bring only his spiritual thing to his planet.
In our real life, there are a lot of problems that make people sad. But if I could see things with my heart, I think the things may gladden me.

I had seen same or similar words like this in the other books. But in this book, I can read powerful permission into from the little prince's saying that in this book. Because most of the other books used this words to show characters cooler or some things. But in this book it used whole story to explain about it. For example on page 85 the little prince explained why people got different feelings when they saw stars on a sky and he mentioned the businessman who he saw in chapter 13(He thought stars are gold). I guess one of reason that author wrote this book is he wants to tell this words meaning to other people.
After I finished reading The Little Prince, I predict that later on the narrator will look at the stars every night, just to remember his best friend, the little prince. Also I predict that one day the narrator will receive mail from a stranger that tells him the little prince is back. And so they would meet again and share stories of what happened to the rose and the sheep. My reaction at the end of the story was sorrow and confusion. It was very sad that the little prince and the pilot had to leave each other when they had just gotten to understand each other and the relationship had begun to grow. At the end of the story, I felt that the little prince is similar to a son and the narrator is similar to a dad who doesn’t understand his son. But at the end of the story, both of them learn something from each other and finally get along very well. I was confused at the end of the story when the little prince goes back to his planet. How can he go back to his planet if he is bitten by a snake? Doesn’t that kill him instead of sending him back to his planet?

At the end of the story, the little prince died and when he dies he died "he fell as gently as a tree falls". I think it was normal ending, because this story was full of mysteries and kind of unusual. So I guessed the little prince would die with some mysteries. So i was a bit dissapointed with my expectations.
